Mario Neto.
I help early-to-growth-stage B2B SaaS companies turn “we think we know our story” into positioning that holds, a go-to-market everyone agrees on, and execution that actually ships. I also write about marketing and have an interview series called fCMO, Fueled by Coffee, Marketing Optional.
A decade across content, GTM, and the story before the pitch.
I have been working with marketing for well over 10 years and ran marketing for companies in many industries before moving into B2B SaaS. That path is why I read GTM problems differently and can adapt easily to any new industry. This is why I chose the path of becoming a fractional CMO.
As Fractional CMO at Kalungi, I work with early-stage B2B SaaS founders scaling from MVP toward T2D3, across client ARR from $0 to roughly $30M.
I'm not an outsourced leader. I am an internal partner in the businesses I'm in to strategically build marketing for my clients.
“Mario has a habit of asking the one question nobody else on the call wants to answer. It’s usually the one that actually matters.”

24 net new logos in 1 year. ~700K in new ARR.

Generated $2M+ pipeline in 12 months.

Doubled the organic MQLs in 6 months.

Brought in $1MM in services.
The concepts I actually use with clients, short and specific.
The GTM fit test
Before you build pipeline, answer five questions about fit. Most GTM motions fail somewhere before the first outreach, not during it.
ReadinessThe first quarter is three different jobs
Month one builds foundations: ICP, messaging, systems. Month two builds the engine: channels, content, cadence. Month three is the optimization. Run them out of order, or try to speed them up and nothing compounds.
OnboardingT2D3 model
Triple ARR two years running, then double it three years running.
Growth strategyThe handoff that kills growth
Sales-to-CS handoff is where most GTM value leaks. Redefining what counts as “closed” fixes more of it than any new handoff template ever will.
Customer successThe capacity-first diagnostic
Before funding demand, answer whether the org can handle double the leads and double the customers it already has. Most GTM spend leaks here first.
DiagnosticThe content flywheel
Most content is funnel-shaped: built to attract, then forgotten. Run it as a flywheel instead, so one case study fuels the next ad, deck, and landing page rather than starting from zero.
Content strategyThe problems worth working on are never clean.
I take on a small number of engagements each year with B2B SaaS founders and GTM leaders who are at an inflection point. Real work on the real problems.
Fractional CMO leadership
Embedded advisory at the VP or CMO level. For companies that need senior GTM thinking without the full-time hire.
GTM diagnostic
A structured review of your go-to-market motion, pipeline, ICP, team, positioning, with a prioritized action plan.
Positioning workshop
A working session to get the company aligned on one sentence: what you sell, to whom, and why it matters now.
Content & GTM partnership
Ongoing support building the story, the channel mix, and the content engine behind it.
“Mario asks the question everyone else skips: can we actually handle what we’re asking for. That question saved us two quarters of wasted spend.”
“The capacity-first diagnostic changed how we planned every quarter after that. We stopped funding pipeline our team couldn’t service.”
fCMO – Fueled by Coffee, Marketing Optional
A short-form interview series you can watch on a coffee break. I sit down with other fractional CMOs, marketers, founders, and clients to talk fractional marketing leadership, GTM, and the business of B2B SaaS. Or sometimes nothing about marketing at all.
Essays on GTM, positioning, and the business of marketing.
The best/better/only framework works, until founder bias, leadership echo chambers, and shallow questioning make your positioning a mirror instead of a map
Most B2B SaaS founders invest in marketing before knowing if their team can handle the growth. Here's why capacity planning comes first.
Founders should be proud of what they build. Yet product pride can distort positioning when the market tells a different story. Here’s how to spot it and reset around real customer input.
